💐 Mother’s Day 2015 – Homeless Ministry for spring quarter in downtown Portland. Beit Shalom Balevav had a great turn-out of 12 people to hand out red roses to homeless mothers and women living on the streets near the waterfront district. Portland is known as the City of Roses. We covered about 2.5 miles along the Willamette River during mid-day along a dense homeless population of the city. We gave not just roses, but also cheerful greetings, hope, encouragement, and an opportunity to pray with them. Many of these women gave us prayer requests, which we wrote down. We will continue to pray over each one of them. One of the great moments of day (of many) was a surprise visit by one of our member’s son while walking northbound on the riverfront. Nothing makes a mother happier than spending meaningful time with her children.
