💪 January 17, 2016: FREE Blood Pressure Clinic and Basic Health Screen at Chuck’s Produce in Salmon Creek. Beit Shalom Balevav served 25 people in the Vancouver community. Some employees dropped by the watch the finish of the Seahawks/Panthers playoff football game. Others came to get free information on healthy living and advice on how to eat better and start a regular exercise regimen. We offered a lot of free information on diet and exercise. Everyone received a free copy of “Take Charge of your Health” booklet. This free resource includes heart health advice and a spiritual section with Scriptures. We prayed with several people including an older couple that was battling a lot of stress and recent familial changes. Two ladies, rather young, had critically high blood pressure and were advised to make an appointment with their physicians in the morning. One lady in distress admitted that she was a single, working mother of three children and trying to go to school at night. We prayed over her and afterwards she cried in relief that someone had taken their time to care about her wellbeing and children. One young man was a fitness instructor and taught us a couple things. Chuck’s was generous enough to provide a $25 in-store credit to us, which we used to serve healthy snacks to anyone interested.
